However, in order to facilitate the access to the Service, in2000 the office was transferred to the campus.Now the Careers Service office is situated in the centre of the campus (in one of the studentbuildings) and it covers 140 square metres. There are four rooms for individual counselling, onein<strong>format</strong>ion room, one workshop room and one toilet.Equipment: Computers: nine PCs: (two for the clients and seven for the staff), one notebook;all the computers have internet access. Other: Photocopier, multimedia projector, TV and videoset and portable cassette recorder.Computer systems supporting the work of the Careers Service:• Computer database containing the data of all students and graduates who have had their careersinterview with an adviser. They receive job and professional training offers via e-mail(a computer programme created by the IT specialists of the university)• An electronic calendar in which we register all meetings of students with advisers as well asin<strong>format</strong>ion on workshops and other events of the Careers ServiceGeneral characteristics and activities of NCU Career Service:The Careers Service of NCU concentrates upon individual counselling, assuming that careersguidance for students is the most important task of the Service. The duties regarding counsellingare divided according to particular university courses. Each adviser specialises in careersguidance and the labour market for students and graduates of the faculty for which he or she isresponsible.The staff organise workshops preparing students to present themselves to the potentialemployers.
