836.Future outlook: Final recommendations for launchingcareer advising services in Croatian universitiesMonika DomanskaHead of Careers Service, Cracow University of Technology, PolandAs a member of the Expert Team on the project “CAREER: Platform for Launching Career AdviceCentres in Croatia”, I have been requested to present some thoughts and recommendations regardingpossible models of career advising services for Croatian universities.Ten years ago, when the first career advising services were established in Poland, the situationin our country was in some aspects similar to that in Croatia today: the distant yet visibleperspective of EU accession; a tough job market; scarcity of financial resources at universities;and a high unemployment rate among young people. At the same time, however, another importantsimilarity is the developing higher education (HE) sector, with new private universitiesemerging, as well as the new phenomenon of competition among HE institutions, especially betweenprivate and public ones. Having in mind these similar circumstances, I feel that our recommendationscan be of value for Croatian universities willing to establish or considering establishingcareer advising services.6.1.
