Regarding the priority activity of the CAS, at the beginning the focus would be on the groupcounselling. As mentioned previously, this would be the fastest way to approach the wide rangeof students. The priority target group would be both students and employers.CAS managementRegarding the scope of CAS services, since the University of Zadar is a relatively small, entirelyintegrated university, the CAS should be centralized.Regarding location in administrative structure, the CAS should be a separate unit within theUniversity structure. However, due to lack of spare space and available funds, it is not likely theSenate and Management will support the establishment of a new “physical” office. The solutioncould be to establish CAS through a low-cost Information desk for the whole university. In terms of human resources, the CAS at the University should be run by one person outsidethe university system (a representative of the local career service, preferably) and supported byalready existing employees from the university services such as Human Resources Departmentand Student Centre. The total number of employees involved in CAS could therefore be three. The best physical location of the CAS would be a central university building. The InformationDesk (by which CAS will be represented) would be placed in one of the rooms in the lobby of theuniversity’s main building. The main building is the place where most departments are situated(as well as the “Referade”- student service) and therefore visited daily/weekly by most of thestudents. This place will provide the highest visibility to the CAS services.Regarding the financing of the CAS, funding could be provided by both the University andprivate sector at the beginning, as well as local and national authorities in later stages. Anothervery helpful resource in terms of providing information about jobs could be an alumni network, which is in the process of being established.775.7.
