Research objectiveOne of the key activities within the TEMPUS project “CAREER: Platform for Career Advice Centresin Croatia” was to conduct research into the current state of affairs regarding students’ satisfactionwith information about employment opportunities after graduation and to make a needsassessment regarding the possible introduction of specific student-oriented services at Croatianuniversities that could improve the situation. This was done through a survey among second andfourth year students at six public universities. Furthermore, a series of informal interviews withrelevant stakeholders was held in order to obtain an indication of the general awareness in theuniversity system about the need for the development of services for students at university.Within the overall objective of the project, which is to recommend possible models for the introductionof career advising services into Croatian universities, the research findings were intendedas a relevant source of information because they may serve as a basis for the creation of evidencebasedrecommendations. Field research was undertaken in the period from January to March 2006while data analysis and reporting was conducted in the period April to end of May 2006.
