Assignment to the position is considered as temporary <strong>and</strong> requiringspecial qualifications that do not comprise an enlisted career field offering progressive levels of skill requirements.b. Assignment to the specified duty position will be made by the appropriate comm<strong>and</strong> through the nomination <strong>and</strong>selection process prescribed by the comm<strong>and</strong> directive.c. A promotion may be made against the position. This could occur when a <strong>Soldier</strong> selected by a promotion board tofill another known or projected IMA duty position vacancy is nominated <strong>and</strong> selected to fill the specified IMA dutyposition under the procedures prescribed by the comm<strong>and</strong> directive.d. The incumbent of a specified IMA duty position, if otherwise eligible, will be considered for promotion byselection boards against vacancies within his or her career field that are available. If selected, the <strong>Soldier</strong> will bereassigned from the specified IMA duty position to the vacant IMA position <strong>and</strong> promoted.6–5. Administrationa. PFC through SGT. Promotion to PFC through SGT will be based solely on eligibility established in paragraph6–3 <strong>and</strong> will be accomplished administratively. Only those <strong>Soldier</strong>s meeting all eligibility requirements will beconsidered for promotion.b. IRR SSG <strong>and</strong> SFC. Annual DA selection boards will be convened by CDR, HRC–St. Louis to consider IRReligible <strong>Soldier</strong>s for promotion to SSG <strong>and</strong> SFC. Only <strong>Soldier</strong>s meeting eligibility requirements (see para 6–3) will bereferred to the board for consideration.c. Selections for SMC. CDR, HRC–St. Louis (AHRC–MSL) may task the DA selection boards to select IMA <strong>and</strong>St<strong>and</strong>by Reserve (Active Status List) <strong>Soldier</strong>s for enrollment in the SMC under the procedures prescribed in paragraph6–7.d. IMA MSG <strong>and</strong> SGM. All IMA SFCs <strong>and</strong> MSGs meeting the eligibility requirements (see para 6–3) will beconsidered for promotion by a DA selection board convened annually by CDR, HRC–St. Louis.(1) Considered list. <strong>Soldier</strong>s considered by the board will be listed <strong>and</strong> the list will be filed as part of the boardreport.(2) Recommended promotion list. <strong>Soldier</strong>s recommended for promotion by the board will be reported on a list <strong>and</strong>published by HRC–St. Louis per paragraph 6–8.e. St<strong>and</strong>by Reserve (Active Status List) MSG <strong>and</strong> SGM.
