The CDR willcomplete DA Form 3355, Section A, items 2 through 5.(3) If selection board consideration is not requested, the records custodian will compute the administrative pointswith a reevaluation date the month <strong>and</strong> year of the promotion authority’s signature on DA Form 3355, Section B, items4 <strong>and</strong> 5. The reevaluation date for <strong>Soldier</strong>s who are considered by a selection board is the date the proceedings areapproved <strong>and</strong> certified by the promotion authority’s signature on DA Form 3355, Section D, items 6 through 8.(4) The new points will be effective on the first day of the second month after the reevaluation month. <strong>Soldier</strong>s willcontinue to compete for promotion using their previous points until the new points are effective.b. <strong>Soldier</strong>s on a current recommended list whose increase of administrative points (DA Form 3355, Section A, item1, <strong>and</strong> Section B) is less than 20 points over the latest promotion point total score (Section C, item 1d) may requestreevaluation. Request must be after 6 months from the latest board consideration, reevaluation, or recomputation.Consideration by a selection board is m<strong>and</strong>atory.(1) Where a <strong>Soldier</strong> requests reevaluation, DA Form 3355 will be used by placing a check mark in item 1b <strong>and</strong> thedate in item 2 <strong>and</strong> by entering the <strong>Soldier</strong>’s signature <strong>and</strong> date in Section B, items 6 <strong>and</strong> 7. The following statement isrequired: “I underst<strong>and</strong> the results of the selection board are final <strong>and</strong> may cause removal from the recommended list ifI am not recommended by the board or if awarded too few board points to achieve recommended list status.”(2) The request will be processed through the same channels as an initial promotion recommendation. On approval of board proceedings, a <strong>Soldier</strong> will lose his or her recommended list status when he or she is notrecommended for promotion by a majority of the voting members, or the promotion score is below that shown inparagraph 5–15a(4).d. Loss of recommended list status through reevaluation does not preclude promotion consideration by futureboards. Such consideration, however, is not a vested right. Those being considered to regain recommended list statusare subject to the provisions of this chapter <strong>and</strong> the CDRs recommendation.e. After reevaluation <strong>and</strong> approval of the board proceedings, the procedures in paragraph 5–15 will apply.5–22. Recomputation of promotion pointsRecomputation of promotion points will be accomplished biannually for <strong>Soldier</strong>s who have been on a recommendedlist continually for 2 years <strong>and</strong> have not had their points recomputed. The authorities cited in paragraph 5–18a willannounce the scheduled suspense dates for the receipt of recomputed scores for <strong>Soldier</strong>s with recommended listst<strong>and</strong>ing. The scheduled date is intended to provide for the time necessary to publish the revised permanent recommendedpromotion list (see para 5–18d). The promotion authority must ensure that a <strong>Soldier</strong>s recomputed score issubmitted by the appropriate CDR to the promotion authority in time for him or her to comply with the announcedsuspense date.a. DA Form 3355 will be used for the biannual recomputation of promotion points.(1) The <strong>Soldier</strong>’s CDR will—(a) Place a check mark next to item 1b.(b) Verify items 2 through 7.(c) Complete Section A, items 1 <strong>and</strong> 2.(d) Certify the data by entering his or her signature in Section A, item 3 <strong>and</strong> entering his or her typed or printedname <strong>and</strong> date in items 4 <strong>and</strong> 5.(e) Send the form to the custodian of the <strong>Soldier</strong>s military personnel records.(2) The custodian of the <strong>Soldier</strong>s records will—(a) Complete Section B, items 1 through 3, per the instructions in chapter 3. Administrative points awarded a<strong>Soldier</strong> will be determined from the records <strong>and</strong> any additional documentation furnished by the <strong>Soldier</strong>.(b) Certify that the administrative points shown have been accurately extracted from the records <strong>and</strong> are correct byentering his or her typed or printed name in Section B, item 4 <strong>and</strong> completing Section B, item 5.(c) Obtain the <strong>Soldier</strong>’s signature in Section B, item 6 <strong>and</strong> enter the date in Section B, item 7. If the <strong>Soldier</strong> is notavailable for signature, the staff administrative assistant or the military personnel officer will enter “<strong>Soldier</strong> notavailable for signature” <strong>and</strong> sign for the <strong>Soldier</strong> in Section B, item 6 <strong>and</strong> enter the date in Section B, item 7.b. The recomputed DA Form 3355 will be distributed as follows:(1) File the original of the recomputed DA Form 3355 directly above the originalDA Form 3355 that is located inthe <strong>Soldier</strong>’s MPF (see para 5–9b(1)).76 AR 600–8–19 • 20 March 2008
