Configuring Subscription2. Accept or change the setting for the default subscription proxy. The defaultsubscription proxy is typically the CA Enterprise Log Manager server that isinstalled first and may also be the management CA Enterprise Log Managerserver. This is the server that will be contacted by each online subscriptionclient for which a subscription proxy list has not been configured. If such asubscription proxy list exists, but is exhausted when searched, the client willget updates from this default.Note: This setting cannot be overridden at the local level. What is specifiedhere applies to all CA Enterprise Log Manager servers that use the samemanagement CA Enterprise Log Manager server.3. Set the schedule for the default proxy and online proxies to contact the CAsubscription server for updates. Clients contact proxies for updates after theproxy has downloaded the update from the CA subscription server.a. Specify the frequency in hours with which the default proxy is to contactthe CA subscription server for updates in the Update Frequency field.b. Use the following guidelines for setting the Update Start Time.■■If you specify a value less than 24 for Update Frequency, make noselection with the Update Start Time spinner. Subscription updatesstart when the iGateway is started.If you specify a value equal to or greater than 24 for UpdateFrequency, specify the hour on a 24-hour clock that you want theupdate to begin.4. Accept the preconfigured RSS Feed URL, which links to the CA Subscriptionserver. This URL enables the population of the available modules todownload.5. Accept the displayed public key or select the correct version. Since this key isused by all subscription proxies, it cannot be modified at the local serverlevel.Important! Do not modify this value except under the direction of TechnicalSupport. When a key change is needed for a given download, this field isautomatically updated before the download begins.6. Specify a value in days or accept the default, 30, for how long downloadedupdates are to be retained on the system. Allow sufficient time to copy thedownload directory from a source subscription proxy to all offlinesubscription proxies and for all updates to be downloaded and installed by allclients.Note: The cleanup updates setting applies to all subscription proxies andoffline subscription proxies and cannot be modified at the local level.130 Implementation Guide
