Configuring a <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> FederationTo configure a <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> server as a child server1. <strong>Log</strong> into any one of the <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> servers that is registeredunder the same application instance name as the others in your intendedfederation.2. Click the Administration tab and select the Services subtab.3. Expand the Event <strong>Log</strong> Store service folder, and then select the server namefor the parent <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> server.4. Scroll down to the Federation Children list.5. Select one or more server names that you want to configure as children ofthe parent server from the servers in the Available list.6. Use the arrow buttons to move your selections to the list of Selected servers.The <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> servers you selected and moved into the listare now federated children of the parent server.More information:Select Use of Federated Queries (see page 114)View Federation Graph and Server Status MonitorYou can view a graph showing the <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> servers in yourenvironment, their federation relationships, and status information aboutindividual servers. The federation graph lets you view the current federationstructure, and view status details of each server. You can also select the localserver that is queried within that session, setting it as the parent server.To view the federation graph, click Show Federation Graph and Status Monitor atthe top of the screen:A window appears showing a graphic display of all the event store hostsregistered with the current management server:■■Event stores with federation children are displayed in light blue and withblack connection lines showing the federation relationship.Event stores without federation children are displayed in light green.You can select a current local server for query purposes.160 Implementation Guide
