Create the Installation DVDsYou can configure and manage the agents and connectors for these eventsources from any <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> server in the network. Dashed linesin the diagram represent configuration and control traffic between themanagement server and agents, and each of the other <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong><strong>Manager</strong> servers. In the environment represented in this diagram, you performconfigurations from the management server. This allows the collection server tofocus on processing events.The log collection environment into which you install <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong> <strong>Manager</strong>servers has the following characteristics:■The management <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> server handles userauthentication and authorization as well as managing the configurations ofall of the <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> servers, agents, and connectors in yournetwork using its local <strong>CA</strong> EEM server.Depending on the size of your network and its event volume, you maychoose to install more than one management server and build federations ofcollection servers under each one. Or, you can dedicate multiple servers toreporting, where all reporting servers register with your one managementserver. In this scenario, the event flow passes from event sources to theconfigured collection server to its configured reporting server.■■One or more collection <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> servers process and storeincoming events.Events flow through your log collection network from a variety of eventsources after you configure their corresponding connectors or adapters.More information:Server Planning (see page 17)Create the Installation DVDsThe <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Log</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> software is available as downloadable, zippedISO images. After you download the software, you need to create DVD mediabefore you can install. Use this procedure to download the ISO images and thencreate the installation disks.To create the installation DVDs1. Access the download server at http://ca.com/support from anInternet-connected computer.2. Click the Technical Support link and then click the Download Center link.3.
