As senior consultant of the institute, Prof. Dietrich at the occasion of his retirement called in a scientific symposium giving a final lecture on „Malaria pathophysiology – Looking back and forward“. Die Identifizierung gelang in enger Zusammenarbeit mit der Universität Frankfurt und war ein Kopf an Kopf Rennen mehrerer unabhängiger Laboratorien aus der ganzen Welt. The identification was performed in close cooperation with Frankfurt University and a close race neck-to-neck with independent laboratories from all over the world. The test protocol developed at the BNI was brought to market by BNI´s collaborating partner artus GmbH and was the first commercially available test kit worldwide.
