SCI GATEWAY 17.0USER GUIDEGENERATING & SENDING MESSAGESAllow a few moments after selecting from the drop down lists for the screen to refresh.The default Health Board Area is determined by the location of the sender through SCIGateway configuration, although it is possible to select a different area if required.After choosing a destination and destination type (hospital / clinic / allied healthprofessional or GP practice) you can choose from the list of specialties available withinthat location. Below that there may then be an option for choosing a clinician. This is alocally configurable option and may not be available in your health board. Finally, you canchoose the protocol – a specialty may have one or more protocols associated with it.If there are additional services/branches to Non – GP Locations/Providers there maybe anumber of other destination options. The order of the drop down destination options forthese services is configured by your local health board and may be different for eachservice. However, the protocol will always be the last option.In order to meet the requirements RTT targets hospital and health board preference is forGPs to refer to a specialty rather than a named consultant. Therefore, there may beoccasions when the Consultant option is not available in the New Referral Destinationoptions.Destination drop down lists will be filtered to only display those destinations that have aprotocol attached.After clicking on the Create button as described on the previous page the protocol will beopened.
