The incident has made me even more obsessional about 'nursing' my websites when they are newly launched because computer systems can fail in unexpected ways. Most of all, however, I am far more cautious of my own big ideas and less eager to bully them through to implementation.

Between the two are the recruitment agencies, roundly condemned to Dante's inferno for crimes against innocent contractors. Phil has been both candidate and interviewer and plucks stories from his experience to illustrate the potential pitfalls of the process. Phil himself shrinks from giving advice on how to be a successful candidate; he claims that somehow he has managed his career despite failing almost every interview he has ever had. [TD]
