No <strong>IT</strong> M<strong>an</strong>ager really likes having to deal with ideas.<br />

They tend to destroy the harmony <strong>an</strong>d equilibrium in<br />

the workplace. Never fear, <strong>Phil</strong>'s list <strong>of</strong> put-downs<br />

will drop even the liveliest idea dead in its tracks.<br />

This is the third in my series <strong>of</strong> hints for aspiring <strong>IT</strong> m<strong>an</strong>agers. Here, we<br />

give you put-down phrases for discouraging ideas. No <strong>IT</strong> M<strong>an</strong>ager really likes<br />

having to deal with ideas. They tend to destroy the harmony <strong>an</strong>d equilibrium in<br />

the workplace. They might help the comp<strong>an</strong>y, but will bring nothing but odium<br />

to your department.<br />

This list should also be useful for <strong>an</strong>yone determined to get ideas acted on,<br />

as all you need to do is to go through the list <strong>an</strong>d make sure you have <strong>an</strong><br />

<strong>an</strong>tidote, solution or riposte ready.<br />

Basically, you're just technology-driven.<br />

That wouldn't fly.<br />
