Bugünün internet ortamında,
yeni bir destinasyon
bulmak, araştırma yapmak
ve en doğru fiyatla seyahatinizi
organize etmek son
derece kolay. Dün hayatımızda
en önemli statü birimi
parayken, bugün sosyal
medya ile gittiğiniz farklı
bir destinasyonda yaşadığınız
sıradışı deneyimle ilgili
koyduğunuz bir fotoğraf,
takipçileriniz, beğenileriniz
önem kazanmaya başladı.
Tatil severler, bugün artık
kimsenin gitmediği yerleri
tercih ediyor. Bunu yaparken
de, kalabalık bir grupla
gitmeyi değil, o hoş anıları
biriktirebilecekleri, kişiye
özel tatil tercih ediyorlar.
Bir başka gelişme de,
rekabetin artması, uçak
fiyatlarının düşmesi gibi
etkenlerle seyahat maliyetlerinin
geçmişe göre önemli
ölçüde düşmüş olması.
Fiyatlar düşerken hem dünyada, hem ülkemizde insanların maddi
gücü yükseldi ve seyahate daha fazla bütçe ayırmaya başladılar. Bu
sayede, bugün insanlar belki daha kısa süreli, ancak kesinlikle daha
sık seyahat ediyorlar.
Sorunuzun ikinci bölümüne, farkımızı nasıl yarattığımıza gelirsek…
cevabı basit: çalışanlarımız... Setur Select biriminde çalışan 12 arkadaşımızın
ortalama sektör tecrübesi 10-15 yıl arsasında. Bizim
işimizde tecrübe çok önemli çünkü rutin bir iş değil bu. Tekrarlayan
bir işte, 1-2 yılda istenilen tecrübe seviyesine erişebilirsiniz, ancak
bir danışmanımızı arayıp yeni bir destinasyonla ilgili değerlendirme
istediğinizde… işte bu noktada birikim olmazsa olmaz. Mesela lavanta
hasadını görmek için Provence’a gittiğinizde; 5 yıldızlı çok katlı
bir otelde de kalabilirsiniz, SeturSelect danışmanlarının yönlendirmesi
ile kasabalarından birinde daha önce deneyimlenmiş şirin bir butik
otelde de. Biz, 5 yıldızlı otelin restoranında standart açık büfe kahvaltı
yerine, ara sokakta küçük ve samimi, otantik bir ‘café’de, fırından

important sign of status
used to be money in the
past, now it is sharing your
holiday pictures you have
taken in extraordinary
destinations. Travelers
nowadays prefer visiting
places that no one else
does. While doing that, they
also prefer going there with
special people instead of a
crowded group.
Another development is
the rising competition and
lower-priced flights, which
at the end also lowers the
cost of the whole trip. This
means that people have
more purchasing power,
and they can allocate a
bigger budget for traveling.
That’s how people travel
more often, even for a
shorter period of time. As for the second part of your question,
the one about how we make a difference, the answer is simple:
our employees. The 12 people that work at Setur Select division
have a tourism experience of around 10-15 years. Experience is
especially important in the kind of work that we do, because it is
not a routine job. You can reach the desired experience level at a
repetitive job in 1-2 years, however when you need a review of a
new destination and you call one of our consultants, that is when
experience makes the difference. For example if you go to Provence
to see the lavender harvest, you can stay at a big, 5-star hotel; or
you can stay at a cute, boutique hotel in one of the towns that
was already visited before, according to our employee’s advice. We
advise a nice chat with a local café owner while you are having your
coffee and fresh, delicious-smelling baguette, on a side street, in a
friendly and authentic place instead of open-buffet of a 5-star hotel.
This is the point where you need experience.
