itiyor. Turizm sektöründe bizi rakiplerimizden ayrıştıran çok önemli
bir husus da bu.

Sizin fotoğraf çekme tutkunuz var, biliyoruz. Bu durumda, seyahat
tutkunuz da olduğunu tahmin ediyoruz, favori destinasyonlarınız
nereler?
Bir kere, Küba’yı çok ciddi tavsiye ediyorum ve de bir an evvel.
2-3 yıl sonra Küba’ya gidildiğinde kesinlikle bugünkünden farklı ve
belki bir o kadar da sıradan bir yer olacak. Ben en çok sokaklarında
dolaşmaktan, insanlarından, müziğinden keyif aldım. Mesela bir tane
fotoğrafım var, oldukça yaşlı bir adam, bağırarak elinde gazete satıyor.
Buna pek Avrupa sokaklarında rastlayamazsınız.
Fotoğrafçı gözüyle, her destinasyon bir diğerinden farklı. Örneğin;
Hindistan Varanassi’de, Ganj nehrinin kenarında gün doğumu ayininde
gözünüz kapalı fotoğraf çekseniz, 2-3 tane güzel olanını garanti
yakalarsınız, böyle bir ortam. Şimdiki hedeflerim: Norveç Fiyordları,
Güney Afrika ve Laponya’nın Kuzey Işıkları. Ben farklı renkleri, dokuları
görmeye tutkunum. Beni en çok cezbeden şeylerden bir tanesi
de, sonunda ne olduğunu bilmediğim yollara girip keşfetmek. Bunu
ülkemizde de yapabilirsiniz; güneye doğru arabayla seyahat ederken
sarı bir ok işareti görüyorsanız, onun peşinden gitmelisiniz… Tatil
köyü 2-3 saat daha size bekleyebilir. Hatta o kadar da uzağa bile
gitmenize gerek yok, İstanbul’un içinde bile keşfedilmemiş birçok
nokta var.
Bendeki enerjiyle Setur’unki çok güzel örtüşüyor. Biz gördüğümüz,
deneyimlediğimiz güzel yerlere başkalarını da götürmek istiyoruz.
Belki biraz felsefi olacak ama, bu hayatta bize ayrılmış bir süre var
ve ne kadar olduğunu da bilemiyoruz. İşte o sürede ne kadar anı
biriktirebilirsek, yaşamımızın değeri de o aslında.
SeturSelect’in sloganlarından biri, ‘Deneyim maceranın, görmek bakmanın
ötesinde…’ Görülmesi gereken yerleri görmeden, gitmemek
lazım…
We know that you are passionate about photography, which
makes us think that you are also passionate about traveling. What
are your favourite destinations?
To start with, I strongly advise Cuba and that you do it soon, because
in the next 2-3 years it will be a much different scenery and it will
be an ordinary place. I mostly enjoyed walking on the streets, the
people and the music. For instance, I have a photo: a very old man
sells newspapers while shouting. You can’t come across with these
on the streets of Europe.
From the perspective of a photographer, every location is different
than the other. For example, if you take pictures in Varanasi, around
Ganges during a birthday mass, you will have 2-3 good photos even
if you take them your eyes closed; it is that kind of a place. My
plans now are to see the Norwegian fjords, South Africa and the
northern lights of Lapland. I am passionate about different colours
and textures. What appeals me most is to take the roads without
knowing where they lead and explore. You can do that in Turkey.
If you are driving to south and you see a yellow arrow, follow that.
Your holiday village can wait for another 2-3 hours. Actually, you
don’t even need to go that far. Even in Istanbul, there are many
places waiting to be explored.
Setur’s energy matches with mine quite well. We want to show the
places that we have seen and enjoyed to others, as well. It might
sound philosophical, but we only have that much time in the world,
and we don’t know how long it is. The more memories we can
make during this time, the more valuable our lives are.
One of the slogans of Setur Select is “Experiencing is beyond
adventure, and seeing is beyond looking.” We shouldn’t depart
without seeing the places that are worth seeing.
