Author Profiles<br />

Majed Fahed Alamri, MFTA, CFTe, MSTA<br />

Majed Fahad Alamri, MFTA, CFTe, MSTA, has<br />

been an independent technical analyst and<br />

trader since 2002. He received a Master of<br />

Financial Technical Analysis (MFTA) in 2015<br />

and a Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) in<br />

2013. He has also been a full member of the<br />

Society of Technical Analysts-STA (MSTA)<br />

since 2014, and he received a master’s degree in education<br />

administration and planning in 2012. Mr. Alamri is the author of<br />

two books in Arabic in the field of technical analysis—one about<br />

the basics of technical analysis and another about Japanese<br />

candles. Between 2005 and 2013, he wrot e 871 daily and weekly<br />

technical reports (in Arabic) about the Saudi stock market<br />

(Tadawul), and he has been a trainer of technical analysis of the<br />

financial markets since 2008. He has also been a member of<br />

IFTA since 2006 and the Society of Technical Analysts (STA)<br />

since 2006. Currently, he is a Ph.D student in education<br />

administration and planning.<br />

Eric Benhamou, Ph.D., CFTe, MFTA, CMT, CAIA<br />

Dr. Eric Benhamou is currently launching<br />

Alpha Beta Performance Capital, a systematic<br />

hedge fund using medium frequency and high<br />

probability trading algos. He has a track<br />

record of successful entrepreneurship, as he<br />

previously created Pricing Partners, a complex<br />

derivatives software and evaluation startup<br />

that was acquired by Thomson Reuters. Prior to that, Dr.<br />

Benhamou served as a quantitative analyst at Goldman Sachs<br />

and Natixis. He majored in applied mathematics at the Ecole<br />

Polytechnique and holds a master’s degree in statistics<br />

from ENSAE, a DEA in probability from Jussieu University, and a<br />

Ph.D. in economics from the London School of Economics. He is<br />

currently finishing a Ph.D. in mathematics at Paris University.<br />

Constance Brown, CMT, MFTA<br />

Constance Brown, CMT, MFTA, founded<br />

Aerodynamic Investments Inc. in 1996<br />

(www.aeroinvest.com). She has 28 years of<br />

trading experience and managed an exclusive<br />

oil, S&P 500 and DAX futures hedge fund for<br />

six years. The fund closed up 67% in 2002, its<br />

final year. Ms. Brown’s prospectus required an<br />

automatic shutdown at -20% that was never triggered. Ms.<br />

Brown advises numerous financial institutions and traders<br />

around the world and actively trades global financial futures.<br />

Seminars and lectures are an important part of showing how<br />

analysis and trading apply technical methods differently due to<br />

the demands of timing and drawdown. She continues to hold<br />

seminars in Europe and the United States. Ms. Brown has<br />

written nine books. Her second book, Technical Analysis for the<br />

Trading Professional (McGraw-Hill, 1999), was used for over a<br />

decade by the Market Technicians Association (MTA) as required<br />

reading for CMT Level 3. Her book Fibonacci Analysis (Bloomberg<br />

Press, 2009) won the Gold Medal from Axiom Business Awards<br />

and is viewed as an industry classic. She is working on a major<br />

release that will include Gann and global cash flow analysis.<br />

Kwun Ho Chan<br />

Kwun Ho Chan is a graduate of The Chinese<br />

University of Hong Kong, where he earned a<br />

B.Sc. in quantitative finance in 2012. He works<br />

as an analyst in a Hong Kong-based hedge<br />

fund and has wide experience in investment<br />

management.<br />

Terence Tai-Leung Chong<br />

Terence Tai-Leung Chong is associate professor<br />

of economics and executive director of Lau<br />

Chor Tak Institute of Global Economics and<br />

Finance, The Chinese University of Hong Kong,<br />

and Siyuan chair professor of Nanjing<br />

University, China. He received his Ph.D. in<br />

economics from the University of Rochester in<br />

1995. He has published over 120 articles in reputable<br />

international journals, including Journal of Econometrics,<br />

Econometric Theory, Econometric Review, Econometrics Journal,<br />

Journal of Time Series Analysis, Journal of Banking and Finance,<br />

Financial Management, Journal of Futures Markets, Quantitative<br />

Finance, Financial Review, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Journal<br />

of Behavioral Finance, Southern Economic Journal, Economics<br />

Letters, Journal of Economic Psychology, Review of Income and<br />

Wealth, and China Economic Review. He is the associate editor of<br />

Singapore Economic Review and Economics Bulletin.<br />

King Tong Choo<br />

King Tong Choo is a student of technical<br />

analysis and an associate member of the<br />

Society of Technical Analysts. His research<br />

interests lie in the areas of momentum and<br />

behavioural economics, which he has<br />

developed through his contribution to the<br />

Journal this year. Choo’s experience includes<br />

his time in the advisory arm of EY and, more recently, his term<br />

with the economic policymaking team at the Adam Smith<br />

Institute. Choo also has a keen interest in entrepreneurship,<br />

with his latest venture being Nova Clothes, a fashion<br />

e-commerce startup.<br />
