78 There is a reversal of lines b and c here in Patna and Pāḷi. These three verses (actually 2 1/2) are
found in the same order at the end of the Nāgavaggo in the Pāḷi, where they seem to have hardly
any connection with the theme of the chapter.
79 Roth reads: mātreyyatā ... petreyyatā in this line, which is perhaps to be preferred.
80 I can find no parallel to this line in the Pāḷi.
