Article 119 of the EC Treaty (Articles 117 <strong>to</strong> 120 of the EC Treaty have been replaced by<br />

Articles 136 EC <strong>to</strong> 143 EC).<br />

The same applies <strong>to</strong> Articles J <strong>to</strong> J.11 <strong>and</strong> K <strong>to</strong> K.9 of the Treaty on European Union:<br />

Article J.2 of the Treaty on European Union (Articles J <strong>to</strong> J.11 of the Treaty on European<br />

2.0 Official Documents (The Official Journal)<br />

Any document issued by an institution of the European Union <strong>and</strong> published in the Official<br />

Journal must be cited by reference of the Official Journal (abbreviated “OJ”).<br />

2.1 Documents Published before July 1, 1967<br />

Cite documents published before July 1, 1967 by title (optional), “OJ”, volume, date<br />

[day.month.year], <strong>and</strong> page referenced followed by the last two digits of the year [page/year]:<br />

OJ 106, 30.10.1962, p. 2553/62.<br />

2.2 Documents Published between July 1, 1967 <strong>and</strong> December 31, 1967<br />

Cite documents published between July 1, 1967 <strong>and</strong> December 31, 1967 by title (optional), “OJ”<br />

volume, date [day.month.year], <strong>and</strong> page referenced:<br />

2.3 Documents Published on or after January 1, 1968<br />

Cite documents published on or after January 1, 1968 by title (optional), “OJ”, series (“L”, “C”,<br />
