12.8(a) Program SDFLCK ( = Slab DeFLection

Figure 12.8-1 shows the Header of the program SDFLCK, which checks
whether the span to depth ratio of a slab is within BS 8110's allowable limit
or not, as described in Section 8.8. As for program BDFLCK in Section
12.5(a), the modification factor for the tension reinforcement is calculated
from eqns (5.3-l(a), (b)).
The input data for the program SDFLCK are: the support condition, the
section details, the characteristic strength of reinforcement and the loading
information. The program output data are: the basic span/depth ratio, the
modification factor for the tension reinforcement and the actual and
allowable span/depth ratios.
