Considering utilities as electricity, butane gas, natural gas and kerosine<br />

(water consumption is included in housing expenditure), expenditure shares<br />

have risen over time, from 3.4% to 4.5% of households budgets. <strong>The</strong> two sets<br />

of data below present budget shares for those commodities and overall for<br />

each of 14 income groups. <strong>The</strong> income groups are adjusted for household<br />

size. and the age and sex of its me<strong>mb</strong>ers pertaining in that time period.<br />

"Levell" refers to those households with equivalence-adjusted incomes<br />

between 0 £E and 1000 £E; "Level 2" are households with incomes between<br />

1001 £E and 2000 £E, etc.<br />
