Attualmente, per produrre un manufatto con le dimensioni di 1.800 mm per 1.000 mm e un’altezza di 600 mm, a seconda del tipo di sabbia, ci vogliono circa 12-15 ore. Certamente il sistema più semplice è l’uso del legante furanico, infatti nel caso di un sistema legante fenolico, la superficie dell’area di costruzione deve prima essere riscaldata a > 85 °C per poter dare luogo alla reazione, e per raggiungere le resistenze richieste è indispensabile un processo di post-polimerizzazione. L’accorgimento da seguire nel caso del sistema di legante inorganico, è che l’intero manufatto (comprensivo di Job Box), deve essere collocato in un forno a microonde adatto a raggiungere la resistenza finale desiderata. Per mantenere le resistenze meccaniche necessarie, lo stoccaggio be heated to > 85 °C in order to give rise to the reaction, and to achieve the required resistances a post-polymerisation process is indispensable. In the case of an inorganic binding system, the solution is to place the entire product (including the Job Box) in a microwave furnace suitable for achieving the desired final resistance. To maintain the necessary mechanical resistances, the finished articles must only be stored in an environment with a low relative humidity percentage. On the other hand, the fundamental advantage of this system is that it is free from emissions, odours and fumes. Summing up, the products are ready after one or maximum two days, and depending on the binding systems used, will have specific characteristics (Figs. 6-7).
