Project Description:
This research is directed at the development of pavement design guidelines so that all parties involved with bicycle trail construction and
maintenance throughout Illinois use consistant and cost effective design procedures. This research will evaluate a broad range of materials that can
satisfy the functional needs of bicycle trails. It will bring the latest technology that is presently available to the field of bicycle trail construction and
maintenance. Design procedures that consider life cycle costs and preservation will be considered.
