Project Description:
Review the literature regarding planning, implementation, and evaluation of warning devices for non-motorized users at rail grade crossings.
Conduct telephone interviews with staff at state agencies to obtain pertinent information about policies, costs and implementation experiences.
Survey non-motorized users at problematic and less so rail grade crossings and analyze video of user behavior at such crossings. Conduct statistical
analysis of survey data. The previous deliverables along with overall conclusions and recommendations will be documented in a final report.
