Conduct telephone interviews with staff at state agencies to obtain pertinent information about policies, costs and implementation experiences. Survey non-motorized users at problematic and less so rail grade crossings and analyze video of user behavior at such crossings. Conduct statistical analysis of survey data. The previous deliverables along with overall conclusions and recommendations will be documented in a final report. Literature Review: The draft document has been updated to reflect information obtained in Task 2. Task 2. Interviews with State Agencies: Over 30 interviews have been conducted and documented. Task 3. Identification of 'Hot Spots": Ten pedestrian rail grade crossings were identified and documented for further analysis. Task 4. Survey of Non-Motorized Users: Field activities have been completed and documented. Task 5. Video Analysis of Pedestrian Behavior: Field activities have been completed. Information obtained is currently being analyzed. Task 6. Statistical Analysis. Data from the users survey in Task 4 are currently being analyzed. Anticipated Work Next Quarter: Revise draft reports for Tasks 1, 2, 3 and 4 according to TRP comments Task 5. Video Analysis of Pedestrian Behavior: Complete analysis of video data. Task 6.
