Based on this direct spend<strong>in</strong>g estimate, the follow<strong>in</strong>g table summarizes the net new economic<br />

<strong>and</strong> fiscal impacts estimated to occur dur<strong>in</strong>g the construction period. These impacts represent<br />

one-time impacts to the local economy <strong>and</strong> will not recur on an on-go<strong>in</strong>g basis.<br />

As shown, the development of the proposed facility is estimated to generate approximately $14.2<br />

million <strong>in</strong> output with<strong>in</strong> the local area over the course of the construction period. This level of<br />

economic activity would support approximately 130 full- <strong>and</strong> part-time jobs with $5.0 million <strong>in</strong><br />

total earn<strong>in</strong>gs. In addition to these local economic impacts, approximately $538,000 <strong>in</strong> taxes are<br />

estimated to be generated dur<strong>in</strong>g the construction period.<br />

The operations of the proposed facility can represent a beneficial source of annual impacts to the<br />

community. Specifically, the annually recurr<strong>in</strong>g impacts of a sports <strong>and</strong> enterta<strong>in</strong>ment facility<br />

beg<strong>in</strong> with the <strong>in</strong>itial direct spend<strong>in</strong>g made dur<strong>in</strong>g operations on facility rentals, food <strong>and</strong><br />

beverage, merch<strong>and</strong>ise, advertis<strong>in</strong>g, nam<strong>in</strong>g rights <strong>and</strong> other <strong>in</strong>come as well as expenditures<br />

made before <strong>and</strong> after events throughout local hotels, restaurants, retail <strong>and</strong> other establishments.<br />

As an <strong>in</strong>itial step <strong>in</strong> the economic impact analysis, the gross <strong>and</strong> net new spend<strong>in</strong>g tak<strong>in</strong>g place<br />

with<strong>in</strong> the proposed facility was determ<strong>in</strong>ed based on the f<strong>in</strong>ancial estimates presented <strong>in</strong> the<br />

previous section. As noted previously, direct spend<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>cludes expenditures on tickets,<br />

concessions <strong>and</strong> other items occurr<strong>in</strong>g with<strong>in</strong> the facility, as well as out-of-facility expenditures<br />

made <strong>by</strong> patrons at area establishments before <strong>and</strong> after attend<strong>in</strong>g events. The <strong>in</strong>-facility<br />

spend<strong>in</strong>g estimates are pulled directly from the f<strong>in</strong>ancial model discussed <strong>in</strong> detail <strong>in</strong> Chapter V<br />

based on the event, attendance <strong>and</strong> per capita spend<strong>in</strong>g estimates <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> the model.<br />
