La Crosse Center<br />
Located <strong>in</strong> downtown La Crosse, Wiscons<strong>in</strong>, the La<br />
Crosse Center is nestled along the Mississippi River. The<br />
Center opened <strong>in</strong> 1980, under the ownership <strong>and</strong><br />
operation of the City of La Crosse. In the spr<strong>in</strong>g of 2000,<br />
the Center underwent a major $14 million renovation that<br />
resulted <strong>in</strong> nearly twice as much event space. In addition<br />
to the 4,880-fixed seat arena, the Center <strong>in</strong>corporates<br />
nearly 60,000 square feet of sellable event space,<br />
<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g 50,200 square feet of exhibit space, 6,700<br />
square feet of ballroom space <strong>and</strong> 2,700 square feet of<br />
meet<strong>in</strong>g space.<br />
The La Crosse Center has had a number of m<strong>in</strong>or league<br />
sports tenants s<strong>in</strong>ce its open<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the Bobcats of<br />
the Cont<strong>in</strong>ental Basketball League <strong>and</strong> the River Rats of<br />
the Indoor Football League. At present, the Center does<br />
not currently host a major sports tenant. In an average<br />
year, the La Crosse Center hosts approximately 20 state/<br />
regional conventions/conferences, 20 public/consumer<br />
shows, 12 concerts, 7 family shows <strong>and</strong> a large number of<br />
small meet<strong>in</strong>gs<br />
