Mid-America Center<br />
The Mid-America Center is located <strong>in</strong> Council Bluffs,<br />
Iowa, approximately 180 miles south of Sioux Falls,<br />
South Dakota. The arena has a capacity of<br />
approximately 6,800 for hockey, 7,000 for basketball<br />
<strong>and</strong> up to 7,800 for concerts, <strong>and</strong> additionally offers 12<br />
luxury suites, 200 club seats <strong>and</strong> 560 personal seats.<br />
The Center is part of a convention complex that<br />
opened <strong>in</strong> 2002, which <strong>in</strong>corporates 48,300 square feet<br />
of sellable event space, consist<strong>in</strong>g of a 24,500-square<br />
foot exhibit hall, 18,500 square feet of ballroom space<br />
<strong>and</strong> 5,300 square feet of meet<strong>in</strong>g space. The complex<br />
is owned <strong>by</strong> the City of Council Bluffs <strong>and</strong> operated <strong>by</strong><br />
SMG. The arena has one tenant, the Omaha Lancers<br />
of the USHL, who on average, hosts 30 games <strong>in</strong> the<br />
Mid-America Center each year. Additionally, <strong>in</strong> 2005,<br />
the <strong>Complex</strong> hosted 270 events, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the USHL<br />
games, as well as many other conventions, concerts,<br />
meet<strong>in</strong>gs, banquets, spectator shows <strong>and</strong> athletic<br />
events.<br />
