These graphic techniques are used in language, Math, andsciences, she comments and hopes to fulfill her own dream to developher own educational web page for her courses.Nevertheless, there are some problems and new challenges to be solved, due to the use of these new technologies in the classroom. Oneof these problems is the calibration of the digital board, which if notdone correctly could hamper its use, by showing images which areout of the screen, as shown by the teacher. There are other inconveniences as well. “If one is not paying attention, students “leave” the classroom and get connected to the MSN (MicrosoftInstant Messaging Service)”. This also resembles situations ofa regular office…Besides, Alejandra does not allow children to takecomputers out of the classroom during breaks because she saw themusing computers as goal posts.“Children’s parents are also very happy because they get technologyas well” she emphasizes. Of course, this enthusiasm is somehow trickyconsidering that parents use their children’s netbooks. “We have tocheck each computer and delete the Facebook and music and cleaningthem because they have a small memory” Alejandra says. Justlike in many homes in Argentina, the netbook becomes, by mistake,of common use as if it was a desktop computer, despite it does nothave the same storage capacity. Alejandra clarifies that this does nothappen with all her students in Potrero “because most families havetheir own desktop computer at home thanks to the (local government)plans” to foster the purchase of computers. We are some days away from the week of the May Revolution, whichwas leaded by Cornelio Saavedra, Juan José Paso and Mariano Moreno, among other patriots.
