Allí se puso en marcha en abril <strong>de</strong> 2010un programa orientado a elevar el coeficiente intelectual <strong>de</strong> los chicos.Para alcanzar ese objetivo, dicen los que saben, los chicos sólo tienenque <strong>de</strong>stinar una parte <strong>de</strong> su tiempo a juegos <strong>de</strong> ingenio, a apren<strong>de</strong>rmúsica y a expresarse a través <strong>de</strong> distintas manifestaciones <strong>de</strong> las artesplásticas.El día está soleado y fresco. Es mayo, y el otoño se hace sentir con toda supresencia, no sólo por la temperatura sino por el color amarillo intensoque los álamos suelen tomar en Cuyo en esta época.Luego <strong>de</strong> un largo recorrido por las sierras puntanas, con parada obligatoriaen un mirador que permite tener una vista dominante <strong>de</strong> la capital,llegamos la escuela 145 “Patricio Guanca”, en lo más alto <strong>de</strong> EstanciaGran<strong>de</strong>. Pintada <strong>de</strong> amarillo, la escuela brilla a medida que cae el sol <strong>de</strong>este lado <strong>de</strong> las sierras. El amplio patio que prece<strong>de</strong> al edificio posee juegos<strong>de</strong> plazas, columpios y toboganes, que anticipan que aquí suce<strong>de</strong>ráncosas fuera <strong>de</strong> lo habitual.| 81Chapter VIArt, games and music workshopsWe are on our way to Estancia Gran<strong>de</strong>, to the northeast of San Luis, on the way to El Trapiche.In Estancia Gran<strong>de</strong>, in April 2010 a program was implemented to raise children’s IQ. Painted in yellow, the school shines while the sun sets on thissi<strong>de</strong> of the hills.
