Las uñas pintadas de oscuro con una francesitablanca hacen resaltar más el color preferido de estaadolescente.Jimena cursa en estos días 4º año y reconoce que,cuando arrancó, le costó engancharse porque no eraigual al colegio. “No era el ritmo cotidiano de ir todoslos días de 8 a 12. Ahora vengo tres veces por semana,y los que vienen acá tienen otra vida, muy distinta a lamía. A mí, mi mamá me mantiene pero el resto de lagente que viene acá es diferente”, señala. Sus compañeros,la mayoría adultos, con un trabajo obligatorioy familias que mantener, tienen efectivamente unavida muy diferente a la de esta chica.Tal vez ese contexto sea un aliciente. Después de haberrepetido tantas veces y quedarse sin escolaridad,hoy Jimena piensa en su futuro. “Quiero terminarbien la secundaria para poder empezar la facultad.Me gustaría ser asistente social”, sueña. Sus amigos,que ya terminaron la escuela, le dicen que se pongalas pilas y que termine la escuela. “Si voy bien terminoeste año, es lo que intento”, declara.Las historias de Patricia Aguilera (46) y Graciela Ojeda(40) son diferentes a la de Jimena. Patricia, empleadaadministrativa en el área de Legales, tiene una miradavivaz, despierta, que le da vida a un cuerpo rollizo.Graciela, administrativa pero en el área docente, lucemás apagada. “Quiero terminar el secundario”, afirmaPatricia, ese secundario que abandonó esta mujer“por trabajo y por maternidad” temprana. Hoy, madrede dos hijos y abuela de un nieto, concurre tres vecespor semana al CID, de 8 a 10 de la mañana. Gracielahizo sólo dos años de la secundaria que tambiéndebió abandonar por maternidad. Hoy acelera paraterminar pronto ese ciclo pendiente de su formación.En las vidas de estas dos mujeres, la computadora estápresente no sólo como herramienta en este lugar deaprendizaje. “Nosotros también la usamos en nuestrotrabajo”, aclara tajante Patricia, quien en su casa tiene50 |pays close attention to fashion. Now I comethree times a week, and people who come here have a life which isvery different from mine. My mum keeps paying for my things, butpeople who come here have a different situation” she points out. Herclassmates, most of them adults with a compulsory job and a familyto support, do have a different life.Maybe that context is an incentive. After repeating so many times andlosing her schooling, Jimena now thinks about her future. “I want tofinish high school so I can go to University. I’d like to be a social assistant”,she dreams. Her friends, who have already finish high school,encourage her to do the same. “If I do ok, I should finish this year, that’swhat I’m trying to do”, she confesses.The stories of Patricia Aguilera (46) and Graciela Ojeda (40) are differentfrom Jimena’s. Patricia is an administrative employee in theLegal Area, she has a bright look which gives life to a chubby body.Graciela who is an administrative employee as well, but in the TeachingArea has an expressionless look. “I want to finish high school”Patricia affirms, that high school she was forced to leave because of“work issues and early maternity”. Today, being a mother of two andgrandmother of a child, attends classes three times a week from 8 to10. Graciela attended high school for two years and then had to dropout because she got pregnant. Now she is speeding up to finish highschool soon.
