“Orientamos a los alumnos sohighschool to have a career after that. When you apply for a job, ifyou don’t have a high school degree, they don’t even consider you forthe position. And I want to study because I want to be someone”, sheaffirms. She does not know for sure yet what she wants to study, butshe knows it has to be related to humanities. As many other classmates here at the Center, Jessica learnt how to usethe computer at the cyber café. And the computer is such a familiar toolthat now, that she has come back to study, it is much easier to learn.Sidanela Miranda (24) wants to make up time which was taken awayfrom an early maternity which prevented her from finishing highschool. She is the mother of two children, of 7 and 5 years of age; shehas a computer at home, in Potrero de los Funes, and she connectswith wi-fi connection to the Internet. “I take information home, and ifI don’t understand anything, I ask her (and points at the teacher) viachat”, she says. This young mother, and member of social networkslike Facebook, Sonico and Twitter, will study nursing once she graduatesfrom high school.Solange (15) and Silvinia Morales (19) are not connected by their familyrelationship as sisters but they also share the same vocation: theyboth want to become police officers when they finish high school atthe Center here in Potrero de los Funes. They do not have a computerat home, where they live with their mother, but they consider the digitalschool for adults “a good opportunity to learn with computers”.And they complain because “small kids come to the Center, they breakthe netbooks and we are left with no computers”. However, Solangeshe highlights the mentor’s attitude: “We get a lot of time here, we allhave the chance to ask for help and they support us to study”.The enthusiasm shown by students in this Center has one cause. Thatcause is the teacher in charge. Liliana Coria does not limit herself tolessons in the 1 to 1 Classroom, Classroom 365 or the things you maylearn in other pedagogical sites. She encourages students, whatevertheir age is, to understand the economic activities carried out in the
