Anew brand for Chilean fruit has just seen the
light of day. The result of cooperation between
the public and private sectors, the new brand has
been created for the purpose of promoting the
Chilean F&V sector world wide. The project, which
was first presented at the Fruit Logistica in Berlin,
will be promoted at other major F&V sector shows
in the course of 2012 in order to boost trade relations
with markets in the United States, Europe and
Asia.
The new “Fruit from Chile” (in Spanish, Frutas de
Chile) brand will form part of an ambitious marketing
plan costing $1 million, through which the Chilean
F&V industry intends to promote itself on international
markets. The realization of the project was made possible
thanks to a long collaboration between the
Association of Chilean fruit exporters, the Fruit
Exporters Association (ASOEX) and the government
agency ProChile, which highlighted the benefits that
the project would bring to the country origin, in particular
the positive impact it would have on product
quality and employment.
Félix de Vicente, director of ProChile emphasizes the
benefits: «The creation of a sector trade mark allows
us to consolidate the position of those districts which,
though long engaged in the export sector, still need to
strengthen their presence in foreign markets with
high-impact promotional campaigns in order to inform
the world that Chile has quality products and services
in areas other than those with which it is traditionally
associated».
Ronald Bown, Chairman of ASOEX, added: «Through
this restyling, Chile wants to draw attention to those
realizzazione dell’intero progetto è stata possibile grazie
Exporters Association (Asoex) e dall’Agenzia governativa
