September 2011- June 2013<strong>The</strong> aim of the project was practical verification of the intercultural competences catalogue ”Intercultural DrivingLicence” (2009/2011), acquired in the previous Comenius project- standards of intercultural communication andwork team, and d<strong>is</strong>semination of the idea of gaining intercultural competences.<strong>The</strong> project was based on an international multimedia magazine “trait d’union” started in 1999/2000 as aComenius project. By overcoming cultural, social and individual differences and using different styles ofcommunication, students worked on the next <strong>is</strong>sue of the magazine “<strong>The</strong> world <strong>is</strong> changing”, showing in the firstwork year the influence of changes appearing in the world on a person’s life and their input into globalizationprocess.In the second work year we focused on current events so as to accustom students to systematic followingchanges happening in all the regions of the world and to develop their ability to foresee consequences of thesechanges.<strong>The</strong> ”milestones” in the modern h<strong>is</strong>tory of partner countries were crucial for better mutual understanding. <strong>The</strong>ywere presented during international meetings in partner schools, which helped to explain the specificity ofchanges in particular countries.Working in an international team (on-line and during international meetings), we acquired interculturalcompetences, nowadays regarded as key qualifications by institutions operating in an international surrounding.Students’ fruitful participation was certified by a suitable certificate after fin<strong>is</strong>hing the work in the project.<strong>The</strong> project participants from all seven partner schools publ<strong>is</strong>hed their articles on the internet platform ‘traitd’union’ in topic groups specified at the beginning of each work year. <strong>The</strong> coordinators from partner schools werethe moderators of work in particular topic groups. Each of 6 partner schools - HPS Buxtehude/Germany,BORG Krems/Austria, (LSP Ass<strong>is</strong>i/Italy, SPG Šilutė/Lithuania, TAOL Tarsus/Turkey, VIII LOKraków/Poland - was also responsible for collecting and choosing the articles publ<strong>is</strong>hed in the chosen topicgroup for the concrete chapter of the printed version whereas the coordinator from the seventh school - LotharThiel, DSB Bilbao/Spain - was responsible for the on-line version. <strong>The</strong> Pol<strong>is</strong>h school - VIII LO in Kraków(Dorota Szafraniec) - was responsible for collecting the whole printed version.Working languages were German and Engl<strong>is</strong>h.In the individual years we worked in the following work groups:Year 2011/2012I.
