simple thing to do, <strong>and</strong> executes your compiled sketch code within the new display window,<br />

all by the same virtual machine. From the virtual machine’s perspective, your sketch<br />

is just another process in the larger running program.<br />

Tour de <strong>Processing</strong><br />

Figure 5-2 shows most of the <strong>Processing</strong> application interface. I didn’t include/exp<strong>and</strong> the<br />

top menu bar, which I’ll cover shortly. You’ll notice, at first glance, that the interface is<br />

pretty simple, without extra dialogs, panels, inspectors, <strong>and</strong> the like cluttering up the environment.<br />

However, the information you need is visible <strong>and</strong> accessible. Additionally, the<br />

environment has an intuitive, non-techie look <strong>and</strong> feel, <strong>and</strong> doesn’t seem to have a steep<br />

learning curve. As you roll over buttons, you get instant feedback about what they do, in<br />

plain simple language (Run, Stop, New, etc.).<br />
