<strong>studiemiljø</strong>er. men hvilke planlægningsredskaber <strong>og</strong> strategier virker, når arbejdspladserne <strong>og</strong> miljøet<br />

bliver skabt <strong>og</strong> drevet? <strong>og</strong> hvordan bliver tiltagene finansieret <strong>og</strong> organiseret? en undersøgelse af<br />

danske universiteter giver et bud <strong>og</strong> tegner samtidig et billede af tendenser, der gør sig gældende for<br />

udformningen af det fysiske <strong>studiemiljø</strong> / attractive study environments and workstations at the university<br />

support modern learning methods, create social and academic networks and reduce the drop-out rate. it<br />

goes without saying that all universities wish to have attractive study environments, but which planning<br />

tools and strategies are effective when creating and operating the workstations and the environment?<br />

How are the initiatives financed and organised? a survey of danish universities gives an idea and at the<br />

same time provides a picture of current trends in the design of the physical study environment<br />

Studerende efterspørger flere <strong>og</strong> bedre studiearbejdspladser. Videnskabsministeriet<br />

gennemførte i 2007 en essaykonkurrence for studerende<br />

om de fysiske rammer på landets universiteter. Her nævnte<br />

stort set alle 63 bidragydere behovet for flere <strong>og</strong> bedre studiearbejdspladser<br />

med længere åbningstider. Uanset studieårgang, studiemønster<br />

<strong>og</strong> fag peger alle, med forskellige begrundelser, på dette behov.<br />

Studiearbejdspladser var tidligere n<strong>og</strong>et, der blev stillet til rådighed<br />

på universiteternes biblioteker. Derudover var der typisk få læse- <strong>og</strong><br />

studiearbejdspladser, som studerende kunne anvende. Projektgruppebaserede<br />

miljøer, som herhjemme på RUC <strong>og</strong> AAU, ændrede billedet<br />

af, hvilke faciliteter et universitet stiller til rådighed, idet de<br />

indførte grupperum <strong>og</strong> projekthuse med faste studiearbejdspladser.<br />

Indtil for nyligt diskuterede vi, hvad indførelsen af teknol<strong>og</strong>i ville gøre<br />

ved behovet for fysiske universiteter. Det virtuelle universitet med<br />

e-læring <strong>og</strong> forelæsninger på pod-cast synes d<strong>og</strong> ikke at have mindsket<br />

behovet for at have et fysisk sted at mødes. Snarere tværtimod.<br />

Students demand more and better workstations. In 2007, the Danish<br />

Ministry of Science, Technol<strong>og</strong>y and Innovation held a competition<br />

in which students had to write an essay about the physical framework<br />

at Danish universities. Almost all 63 entries mentioned the<br />

need for more and better workstations with longer opening hours.<br />

Regardless of the year of study, the study pattern and the subject, all<br />

students – for different reasons – emphasise this requirement.<br />

Workstations in hindsight<br />

In the past, workstations were something that was made available at<br />

the university libraries. Apart from that, there were generally only a<br />

few places where the students could read and study. Environments<br />

based on project groups, like the group rooms and project buildings<br />

with permanent workstations that were introduced at Roskilde and<br />

Aalborg Universities in Denmark, changed the picture of the type of<br />

facilities made available by the university.<br />

Until recently, we were discussing what the introduction of technol<strong>og</strong>y<br />

would do to the need for physical universities. However, the
