<strong>of</strong> Article 51 or Article 59 <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Code</strong>. The duration <strong>of</strong> a condition imposed shall not be<br />

less than six (6) months or more than three (3) years.<br />

3. When imposing the obligations provided for in Article 59 <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Code</strong>, the court shall<br />

consider, in particular, the age <strong>of</strong> the convicted person; his or her general health and<br />

mental condition; lifestyle and needs, especially those related to family, school and work;<br />

the motives for committing the criminal <strong>of</strong>fense; his or her behavior after its commission;<br />

his or her past conduct; personal and family-related circumstances; and, other<br />

circumstances which are important for the selection <strong>of</strong> the kind <strong>of</strong> supervision and its<br />

duration.<br />

4. If the convicted person fails to maintain contact with the probation service or to<br />

perform an obligation provided for in Article 59 <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Code</strong>, as ordered by the court, the<br />

court may replace the previous obligation with a different one, extend the duration <strong>of</strong> the<br />

supervision within the verification period, or revoke the suspended sentence.<br />

Article 59<br />

Types <strong>of</strong> obligations set forth in a suspended sentence<br />

1. A suspended sentence may also include an order to perform one or more <strong>of</strong> the<br />

following obligations:<br />

1.1. to receive medical or rehabilitation care in a health care institution;<br />

1.2. to undergo a medical or rehabilitation treatment program;<br />

1.3. to visit a psychologist and/or another consultant and act in accordance with<br />

their recommendations;<br />

1.4. to receive vocational training for a certain pr<strong>of</strong>ession;<br />

1.5. to perform a work activity;<br />

1.6. to use wage and other income or property to fulfill a family obligation;<br />

1.7. to refrain from changing residence without informing the probation service;<br />

1.8. to abstain from the use <strong>of</strong> alcohol or drugs;<br />

1.9. to refrain from frequenting certain places or locales;<br />

1.10. to refrain from meeting or contacting certain people;<br />

1.11. to refrain from carrying any kind <strong>of</strong> weapon;<br />
