Article 173<br />
Endangering internationally protected persons<br />
1. Whoever intentionally deprives an internationally protected person <strong>of</strong> his or her life<br />
shall be punished by imprisonment <strong>of</strong> not less than ten (10) years or life long<br />
imprisonment.<br />
2. Whoever engages in the kidnapping or attack on the person or liberty <strong>of</strong> an<br />
internationally protected person shall be punished by imprisonment <strong>of</strong> three (3) to twelve<br />
(12) years.<br />
3. Whoever engages in a violent attack upon the <strong>of</strong>ficial premises, the private<br />
accommodation or the means <strong>of</strong> transport <strong>of</strong> an internationally protected person, where<br />
such attack is likely to endanger his or her person or liberty shall be punished by<br />
imprisonment <strong>of</strong> one (1) to ten (10) years.<br />
4. Whoever makes a serious threat to commit the <strong>of</strong>fense provided for in paragraph 1, 2<br />
or 3 <strong>of</strong> this Article shall be punished by imprisonment <strong>of</strong> one (1) to five (5) years.<br />
5. Whoever organizes or orders another person to commit the <strong>of</strong>fense provided for in<br />
paragraph 1, 2 or 3 <strong>of</strong> this Article shall be punished by imprisonment <strong>of</strong> three (3) to five<br />
(5) years.<br />
6. When the <strong>of</strong>fense in paragraph 2 or 3 <strong>of</strong> this Article results in the death <strong>of</strong> one or more<br />
persons, the perpetrator shall be punished by imprisonment <strong>of</strong> not less than ten (10) years<br />
or life long imprisonment.<br />
7. For the purposes <strong>of</strong> this Article, the term “internationally protected person” shall have<br />
the same meaning as defined in Article 120 <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Code</strong>.<br />
Article 174<br />
Endangering United Nations and associated personnel<br />
1. Whoever intentionally deprives United Nations or associated personnel <strong>of</strong> his or her<br />
life shall be punished by imprisonment <strong>of</strong> not less than ten (10) years or life long<br />
imprisonment.<br />
2. Whoever engages in the kidnapping or attack on the person or liberty <strong>of</strong> United<br />
Nations or associated personnel shall be punished by imprisonment <strong>of</strong> three (3) to twelve<br />
(12) years.<br />
3. Whoever engages in a violent attack upon the <strong>of</strong>ficial premises, the private<br />
accommodation or the means <strong>of</strong> transport <strong>of</strong> United Nations or associated personnel,<br />
where such attack is likely to endanger his or her person or liberty shall be punished by<br />
