Article 183<br />
Inciting suicide and assisting in suicide<br />
1.Whoever incites or assists another person to commit suicide, and the suicide is<br />
committed, shall be punished by imprisonment <strong>of</strong> one (1) to five (5) years.<br />
2. Whoever commits the <strong>of</strong>fense provided for in paragraph 1 <strong>of</strong> this Article against a<br />
minor or a person whose capability to understand the gravity <strong>of</strong> his or her act or whose<br />
ability to control his or her behavior was substantially diminished, shall be punished by<br />
imprisonment <strong>of</strong> one (1) to ten (10) years.<br />
3. Whoever commits the <strong>of</strong>fense provided for in paragraph 1 <strong>of</strong> this Article against a<br />
person under the age <strong>of</strong> fourteen (14) years or against a person who was incapable <strong>of</strong><br />
understanding the gravity <strong>of</strong> his or her act or controlling his or her behavior shall be<br />
punished in accordance with Article 178 <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Code</strong>.<br />
4. Whoever treats another person in a subordinate position in a cruel or inhumane way<br />
and thereby causes such person to commit suicide shall be punished by imprisonment <strong>of</strong><br />
six (6) months to five (5) years. For the purpose <strong>of</strong> this paragraph “person in a<br />
subordinate position” means a person who is under the supervision, rank, control or<br />
custody <strong>of</strong> the person who acted in a cruel or inhumane way.<br />
5. If, as a result <strong>of</strong> an <strong>of</strong>fense provided for in paragraphs 1 to 4 <strong>of</strong> this Article, suicide has<br />
only been attempted, the punishment may be reduced.<br />
Article 184<br />
Unlawful termination <strong>of</strong> pregnancy<br />
1. Whoever, with the consent <strong>of</strong> the pregnant woman, but in violation <strong>of</strong> the Law for<br />
Termination <strong>of</strong> Pregnancy terminates a pregnancy, commences to terminate a pregnancy,<br />
or assists in terminating a pregnancy shall be punished by imprisonment <strong>of</strong> six (6) months<br />
to three (3) years.<br />
2. Whoever terminates or commences to terminate a pregnancy without the consent <strong>of</strong> the<br />
pregnant woman shall be punished by imprisonment <strong>of</strong> one (1) to eight (8) years.<br />
3. When the <strong>of</strong>fense provided for in paragraph 1 or 2 <strong>of</strong> this Article results in grievous<br />
bodily injury, serious impairment to health or the death <strong>of</strong> the pregnant woman, the<br />
perpetrator shall be punished by:<br />
3.1. imprisonment <strong>of</strong> one (1) to ten (10) years, in the case <strong>of</strong> the <strong>of</strong>fense<br />
provided for in paragraph 1 <strong>of</strong> this Article;<br />
3.2. imprisonment <strong>of</strong> five (5) to fifteen (15) years in the case <strong>of</strong> the <strong>of</strong>fense<br />
provided for in paragraph 2 <strong>of</strong> this Article.<br />
