yellow, longitudinal line on stria 5; elytral<br />

apices not capable <strong>of</strong> completely covering the<br />

pygidium; elytral suture distinctly yellow,<br />

apex without an acute spine; metasternum<br />

with a dark medial patch; mesothoracic process<br />

projecting apically to procoxa; apical<br />

abdominal spiracle not protuberant; mesotarsomere<br />

5 and metatarsomere 5 with an<br />

internomedial tooth; parameres with the apex<br />

rounded, not expanded.<br />

DISTRIBUTION (Fig. 65). Known from the<br />

Andes Mountains <strong>of</strong> western Venezuela and<br />

an unknown locality in Colombia.<br />

LOCALITY DATA. 22 specimens examined<br />

from BDGC, BMNH, CBAC, DEIC, HAHC,<br />

MIZA, MNHN, ZMHB.<br />

Methods and Materials section for a statement<br />

<strong>of</strong> taxonomic purpose. Ohaus (1904b)<br />

did not state how many specimens were in the<br />

original type series (he had no male specimens).<br />

The existence and location <strong>of</strong><br />

paralectotypes are unknown. Type locality:<br />

Yungas de La Paz, Bolivia.<br />

DESCRIPTION. Male (n=75). Length 21.8-<br />

27.4 mm, width 11.8-15.5 mm. Color <strong>of</strong> dorsal<br />

surface lime green or yellow; yellow<br />

pronotum, scutellum, and elytron margins;<br />

elytral disc with 5 weakly raised, yellow, longitudinal<br />

lines, medial 3 lines thicker, lateral<br />

2 lines thinner. Ventral surface yellow to lime<br />

green or yellow. Body ovate, strongly convex.<br />

Head: Dorsal surface glabrous. Frons densely<br />

punctate, clypeus rugose, punctures moderate.<br />

Frons not depressed. Frontoclypeal suture<br />

complete. Clypeus trapezoidal. Eyes<br />

separated by approximately 5.0 transverse<br />

eye-widths. Labrum rugose, setose; setae<br />

tawny. Apex <strong>of</strong> labrum with triangular medial<br />

tooth, apex <strong>of</strong> tooth extending past apex <strong>of</strong><br />

mentum. Apex <strong>of</strong> mentum with triangular,<br />

medial tooth. Antenna 10-segmented; club
