(typeface). The location <strong>of</strong> the holotype and<br />

two additional male paratypes from<br />

Gutiérrez’s original type series is unknown.<br />

The holotype male was deposited in the<br />

“Sociedad Científica Chilena Claudio Gay”<br />

collection (Gutiérrez 1951). This short-lived<br />

collection was combined with the Luis Peña<br />

collection, which was later purchased by the<br />

FMNH. The holotype is not in FMNH or any<br />

<strong>of</strong> the other collections from which I borrowed<br />

material. I can only conclude that it has been<br />

lost. The neotype is also a paratype <strong>of</strong> this<br />

species and has identical label data to the lost<br />

holotype (Gutiérrez, 1951). Neotype here<br />

designated. See Methods and Materials section<br />
