number 11466 on the two paralectotype at the<br />

ZMHB indicates the two specimens<br />

accessioned from the Buquet Collection collected<br />

near Bogotá, Colombia. Burmeister<br />

(1844) did not state how many specimens<br />

were in the type series (which was from the<br />

Buquet collection). The existence and location<br />

<strong>of</strong> other paralectotypes are unknown. Type<br />

locality: Bogotá, Colombia.<br />

DESCRIPTION. Male (n=55). Length 20.8-<br />

27.1 mm, width 10.9-15.0 mm. Color <strong>of</strong> dorsal<br />

surface olive green to lime green or dark yellow<br />

(sometimes darkened to brownish-green);<br />

pronotum <strong>of</strong>ten with dark maculations;<br />

elytral intervals 3, 5, and 7 sometimes with<br />

weak, yellow, longitudinal stripe; pronotum,<br />

scutellum, and elytron with yellow margin.<br />

Ventral surface olive green to reddish-brown,<br />

metasternum sometimes with medial brown<br />

patch. Body ovate, strongly convex. Head:<br />

Dorsal surface glabrous. Frons densely punctate,<br />

clypeus rugopunctate, punctures moderate.<br />

Frons depressed. Frontoclypeal suture<br />

complete. Clypeal apex broadly rounded. Eyes<br />

separated by approximately 4.0 transverse<br />

eye-widths. Labrum densely punctate, with<br />

moderately large, setose punctures, setae<br />

tawny. Apex <strong>of</strong> labrum with small, triangular,<br />

medial tooth, apex <strong>of</strong> tooth well separated<br />

from apex <strong>of</strong> mentum. Mandibular scissorial<br />

region with 2 teeth, molar region with strong<br />

lamellae. Maxilla with 3 teeth, 2 inner teeth<br />

bifurcate. Mentum with apicomedial notch.<br />

Antenna 10-segmented; club approximately<br />

equal to segments 2-7, slightly longer than<br />

length <strong>of</strong> frons. Pronotum: Surface glabrous,<br />

moderately punctate, with small and moderate<br />

punctures. Marginal bead weak laterally,<br />

absent elsewhere. Elytron: Surface glabrous;<br />

longitudinal striae weakly impressed, punctate;<br />

punctures moderate with dark coloration;<br />

intervals sparsely punctate, punctures<br />

small. Suture apically angled, without spine.<br />

Pygidium: Width approximately 1.8 times<br />

length medially. Surface convex, disc<br />

impunctate (sparsely punctate near apex);<br />

punctures moderately large, setose; setae<br />

short, tawny. Venter: Thorax densely setose<br />

(except moderately setose medially), setae<br />

cream colored. Mesothoracic process weakly<br />

produced, projecting anteriorly weakly past<br />

mesocoxa; shape conical. Abdomen sparsely<br />

setose, setae cream colored. Apical spiracles<br />

not extruding. Legs: Protibia with 3 subequal
