RECS system of Tradable Green Certificates
• The most widespread TGC system in Europe with
well defined rules;
• Started as a voluntary initiative to create a uniform
system for cross-border certificate trading in 2001;
• RECS International - Association of traders;
• AIB – Association of Issuing Bodies;
• More than 100 market players trade certificates in
over 14 countries in Europe;
• Strict rules for accreditation and auditing of
generation plants – prevention of multiple issuing;
• Each IB is responsible for functioning of the system
in its domain.
• AIB is responsible for developing the system and
for preparing common rules – EECS PRO.
