CROATIA – Current situation in Power sector<br />

• Croatian power sector is dominated by the national utility -<br />

Hrvatska Elektropriveda (HEP)<br />

• total capacity installed in the country is approximately 3,800<br />

MW<br />

• HEP owns 50% of the 632 MW Krško nuclear power plant<br />

which is located in Slovenia<br />

• Also electricity from coal-fired TPP on the territories of<br />

• B & H and Serbia, with a total capacity of 650 MW<br />

• the installed electricity generation capacity (y. 2003) was<br />

mainly hydro (2 076 MW, 58% ) and thermal (1 729 MW, 42% )<br />
