CROATIA – Current situation in Power sector
• Croatian power sector is dominated by the national utility -
Hrvatska Elektropriveda (HEP)
• total capacity installed in the country is approximately 3,800
MW
• HEP owns 50% of the 632 MW Krško nuclear power plant
which is located in Slovenia
• Also electricity from coal-fired TPP on the territories of
• B & H and Serbia, with a total capacity of 650 MW
• the installed electricity generation capacity (y. 2003) was
mainly hydro (2 076 MW, 58% ) and thermal (1 729 MW, 42% )
