Power quality The location and intermittent nature of wind turbine machines can cause power quality problems: voltage dips, frequency variations, and low power factor. Power quality problems caused by wind power are best solved at the point of interconnection of wind power to the utility grid. New state-of-the-art wind generators utilize power electronics and variable-pitch turbines that allow the wind turbine to produce energy at various wind speeds.
