Import restrictions<br />

Myanmar requires an import permit for many goods. Before posting any item, senders should<br />

confirm that the addressee has any necessary permit. Senders should determine import restrictions<br />

from Myanmar authorities before posting any item other than letters and firearms and firearm parts.<br />

Special documentation<br />

Commercial goods require an invoice in duplicate and a Certificate of Origin.<br />

Address format<br />

The postal administration of Myanmar has advised postal administrations worldwide that it will not<br />

accept mail unless addressed to “MYANMAR”. It will return mail not so addressed to the country of<br />

origin.<br />

Prohibitions<br />

In addition to items prohibited by Dangerous and Prohibited Goods & Packaging <strong>Post</strong> <strong>Guide</strong> and<br />

ECI and EPI – Parcels Regulations, Myanmar prohibits:<br />

Coins exceeding $A11 in value<br />

Firearms, imitation<br />

Lottery tickets and advertising<br />

Medicines<br />

Plants and seeds<br />

Quinine, rose-coloured<br />

Shaving brushes, Japanese.
