Extra Cover to a value of $5000 is available only for parcels addressed to Rangoon. The article must
not contain valuables.
Import restrictions
Myanmar requires an import permit for many goods. Before posting any item, senders should
confirm that the addressee has any necessary permit. Senders should determine import restrictions
from Myanmar authorities before posting any item other than letters and firearms and firearm parts.
Special documentation
Commercial goods require an invoice in duplicate and a Certificate of Origin.
Address format
The postal administration of Myanmar has advised postal administrations worldwide that it will not
accept mail unless addressed to “MYANMAR”. It will return mail not so addressed to the country of
origin.
Prohibitions
In addition to items prohibited by Dangerous and Prohibited Goods & Packaging Post Guide and
ECI and EPI – Parcels Regulations, Myanmar prohibits:
Coins exceeding $A11 in value
Firearms, imitation
Lottery tickets and advertising
Medicines
Plants and seeds
Quinine, rose-coloured
Shaving brushes, Japanese.
