Import restrictions<br />

Somalia requires an import permit for all commercial goods. Before posting any item, senders should<br />

confirm that the addressee has the necessary permit. Senders should determine import restrictions<br />

from Somalia authorities before posting:<br />

Bees<br />

Clothing and materials, used<br />

Firearms<br />

Insect killers<br />

Leeches<br />

Medicines and drugs<br />

Milk, condensed<br />

Radio apparatus<br />

Saccharine<br />

Salt<br />

Silkworms<br />

Tobacco and tobacco products<br />

Weapons and part thereof.<br />

Special documentation<br />

Private packages should be endorsed PRIVATE– NO COMMERCIAL PURPOSE, or PERSONAL EFFECTS, or<br />

GIFT ONLY, as appropriate. Commercial goods must be endorsed COMMERCIAL.<br />

Prohibitions<br />

In addition to items prohibited by Dangerous and Prohibited Goods & Packaging <strong>Post</strong> <strong>Guide</strong> and ECI and<br />

EPI-Parcels Regulations (see �5.8.2), Somalia prohibits:<br />

Lottery tickets and advertising Spirits.<br />

At the time of publication, ECI <strong>International</strong> Courier and all Air Mail services remain suspended, including<br />

Registered <strong>Post</strong> <strong>International</strong> and Express <strong>Post</strong> <strong>International</strong>. Sea Mail is operating.
