2 Unmounted precious stones<br />

Singapore admits unmounted precious stones only with an import permit from the <strong>Post</strong>master<br />

General.<br />

Import restrictions<br />

Singapore requires an import permit for many goods. Before posting any item, senders should<br />

confirm that the addressee has any necessary permit. A Goods and Services Tax of three per cent of<br />

the total of cost, Extra Cover, freight and customs duty applies to all goods and merchandise<br />

imported into Singapore. Senders should determine import restrictions from Singapore authorities<br />

before posting:<br />

Drugs and medicines<br />

Firearms and firearm parts<br />

Grain<br />

Hypodermic syringes<br />

Meat or meat products<br />

Parasites and insect killers<br />

Plants and parts of plants<br />

Weapons and weapon parts<br />

Special documentation<br />

Commercial goods require an invoice.<br />

Prohibitions<br />

In addition to items prohibited by Dangerous and Prohibited Goods & Packaging <strong>Post</strong> <strong>Guide</strong> and<br />

ECI and EPI-Parcels Regulations (see �5.8.2), Singapore prohibits:<br />

Cyclamates, sodium and<br />

calcium, items containing<br />

Lottery tickets and advertising<br />

Lucky charms, advertising of<br />

Milk, skimmed<br />

<strong>Post</strong>age stamps, fictitious or used<br />
