This guide describes <strong>the</strong> process <strong>for</strong> reduc<strong>in</strong>g time-weighted average exposure values (TWAEV)<br />

accord<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>the</strong> substances <strong>in</strong> Schedule I and <strong>the</strong> type of work schedule. This guide must be used<br />

toge<strong>the</strong>r with <strong>the</strong> present document.<br />

Biological monitor<strong>in</strong>g is used to document workers' exposure by measur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> contam<strong>in</strong>ant,<br />

metabolites or any o<strong>the</strong>r parameter <strong>in</strong> a biological matrix. It is used <strong>in</strong> a preventive context and may<br />

constitute a procedure complementary to <strong>the</strong> environmental monitor<strong>in</strong>g described <strong>in</strong> this guide.
