The two filters <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> sampl<strong>in</strong>g cassette allow specific analysis of monomer HDI <strong>in</strong><br />

vapour <strong>for</strong>m and <strong>in</strong> aerosol <strong>for</strong>m. The result supplied <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> report is <strong>the</strong> sum of<br />

<strong>the</strong> monomers of HDI of <strong>the</strong> two fractions. Determ<strong>in</strong>ation of <strong>the</strong> correspond<strong>in</strong>g<br />

oligomers is also done dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> analysis. IPDI can be determ<strong>in</strong>ed<br />

simultaneously on <strong>the</strong> same sample. However, <strong>the</strong> analytical method does not<br />

differentiate HDI oligomers from IPDI oligomers. The sampl<strong>in</strong>g time can be<br />

longer than 15 m<strong>in</strong>utes if <strong>the</strong> TDI is present <strong>in</strong> vapour <strong>for</strong>m only.<br />

The recommended volume is 15 litres; however <strong>the</strong> sampl<strong>in</strong>g time can be up to 8<br />

hours. Store <strong>the</strong> samples <strong>in</strong> a refrigerator be<strong>for</strong>e and after sampl<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

Five isocyanates can be requested at <strong>the</strong> same time: HDI, TDI, MDI, IPDI and<br />

HMDI. The analysis is done <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> isocyanates present <strong>in</strong> vapour <strong>for</strong>m only and<br />

<strong>the</strong> result is expressed as a monomer concentration.
