4. Inspect the following:<br />
a. Pump tube – Look for excessive wear caused by the<br />
pump rollers and for cracks along the sides of the tube.<br />
Cracks might not be apparent unless you flex or<br />
squeeze the tubing. If cracks or excessive wear are evident,<br />
replace the pump tube (Section 1.4.2).<br />

CAUTION<br />
This sampler has a high performance pump. As with all such<br />
pumps, it relies upon liquid to cool working components. If the<br />
sampler is programmed to pump in the absence of liquid in<br />
excess of 5 minutes, excessive heat buildup may damage the<br />
paddles, rollers, and housing. Ensure that the liquid inlet is<br />
completely immersed.<br />
